You make a very strong point on your blog that even I missed. As PGD being in the debeers DB the profile of Chidliak will rise through the net working. That will attract investors to the district. But the only way in is through buying shares of PGD.

Unlike Lac de grass or the Yukon or Carlin trend you have a choice of dozens of companies to become involved in those districts.

But the only path to Chidliak is PGD stock. We current shareholders could not be in a better position.

"We current shareholders could not be in a better position" A higher share price would put us in a much better position! LOL

The point also missing is the fact that Peregrine still maintains 100% marketing rights of all stones at Chidliak. I"m sure there are people drooling over that. Walk into a Canadian jewellery store and ask them how many people pursue a Canadian diamond versus a non-Canadian diamond. I'm going to guess it is greater than 50%...now budgets may push them into the non-Canadian diamonds ...more

In my retail experience, 30% requested Canadian Diamonds and like Ekim said, most had their budgets force them out of the idea. Unfortunately, the Canadian kind tend to be 10-20% higher in price. Spence sold almost all of its business to Lion Capital/IVEST in April and they plan to go only Canadian diamonds but in retail locations worldwide. They will need a steady supply for that. Wonder where ...more

So...Canadian diamonds are 10 to 20% higher for polished. You would assume rough diamonds would be a bit higher too. So, when Peregrine procured a www valuator in Antwerp for the CH-6 valuation....did they include a premium in that model for the Canadian marketing aspect? Or did they just say, here is a bucket of diamonds from somewhere on this earth...what is the valuation model for it ...more

I believe some of the premium comes from the marketing itself. Aslo, I heard the cutting was more expensive too.  Smaller marketplace than India and Isreal for cutting. More master cutters here. The laser etching for ethical origin adds another process to the Canadians. Most Canadians under 1/3 of a carat get sent straight to the cutting meccas and don't bother about identity.  I ...more

Here is that Canadian image I posted a couple months back. I easily reckon that Chidliak CH-6 as we know it with the size and quality of diamonds...could easily produce a rough diamond for every single diamond on that poster. LONG...PGD EKIM

That looks like mappins. So when they quote vs it is kinda bs. The grading system used by them is optomistic to be nice. Having said that, the real VS is worth more.  When I left Spence a 1ct VS H colour was 11k. Now the price has come down a bit but, the currency devaluation has caused the price to go up more than the lessening of diamonds value. Generally, the grading system used by Mappins ...more
