Question: Who is the insider? If it is a fund holding more than 10% for example (i.e. insider by virtue of size, not knowledge) insider selling doesn't mean anything... Many of these fund managers don't know what they are doing anyway...orepass

Agreed. I still purchased my stock knowing the insider traded because when you compare the insider stock trade to the actual trading on the TSX it some minor profit taking if more insiders were dumping in masse it would have tanked the stock price and would not have closed as well as it did. On monday they are going to have wished they held on.

The company traded over 17 million shares today on both boards, its a crappy week on the markets, anyone "considered" an insider could have needed the cash from the 300,000 shares sold. Who cares? Do people expect insiders to never sell any shares? I have been holding this for a while and pulled the trigger over a dollar on a double but when the stock fell back to 93 I got the feeling ...more

Not that it matters if an officer sold a few hundred thousand shares but I have generally found TMX data to be spotty at best. www.canadianinsider.com is far more accurate. Also I have found the definition of 'insider' under TMX data to be broader than canadianinsider....when the correct information is being posted. TMX seems to also include funds as well....not just officers and ...more
