I doubt they are just waiting for the permit
they must know they will get it at some point and I hope they are preparing whatever

I picked a bad time to give up flying. Back until a few years ago, I could have jumped into my plane and been over that area in an hour or two. Seems like I'm always either a "day late or a Dollar short!"

I could drive there in 1/2 hour  but nothing would be gained by being escorted off the property by Security and/or blackflies. I've heard through the grapevine the same as what I posted weeks ago, that they're waiting  for govt approval of their financial closure plan. No activity starts until then, beyond ongoing drilling. Patience, boys, no point in yelling at the clouds, lol ...more

I read up on black flies and they can be real nasty  have you any idea why it takes long for the permits? maybe it just seems long and the waiting time is normal from what I read, Timmins has both open pit and undeground gold mines

No particular reason other than they are working at the speed of government. We all know that if government and a snail ever got into a race, the snail would win every time! The only time when speed is involved is at going home time.  If they dare ask for a report on progress, chances are that their paperwork will fall to the bottom of the pile.

Just how fast are they?   Well they work until 5 but a lot are home by 4:30. Now, THAT is fast!!!

I trust you noted that the last permit application part in question is the letter of financial assurance that  the site, including the underground stopes will be put back as they were. This letter must come from a bank or insurance company. Now, you've got the government and the financial system running every clause and subsection through their legal departments to dot every i and cross ...more

at some point they should get the permit. If they don't then I lose but if they do I win but then that may take a while I am willing to wait and take that risk I am convinced there is a lot of gold there that is my opinion  everyone should decide for themselves

I don't think it is a matter of "if" they get the permits, it is a matter of "when" they get the permits. Sadly, the wheels of government seem to turn slowly on this file.

Canada Nickel, also in Timmins, is in the same boat : wait, wait, wait. I think the ministry assigns someone to work with a company rep to finalize the applications so they pass. I suspect the Galleon company rep may have been the late COO Timothy Smith. If so, the new company rep would have needed time to get up to speed. Engineers with Smith's qualifications don't grow on trees. Yes ...more

I agree that time is needed especially for underground. Worker safety must always be number one on any list. I would have thought that with Russell's experience they would have thought of all contingencies. Backups everywhere in all serious responsible positions. In every responsible job I had, we always had someone to step right in, in the event someone quit or was gone for whatever ...more
