Love it or hate it, there is no denying the impact the iPhone has had on both mobile technology and society as a whole. While Android has the numbers to back its popularity, the iPhone has become a cultural icon. So it’s no small potatoes when we hear things like Sarah Rotman Epps, senior analyst at Forrester, saying that Google Glass could be the next iPhone.

Epps believes that the world is ready for Glass, even if Glass isn’t quite ready for the world. With some refinement and greater backing by apps developers, she believes Glass will be the next big thing in mobile.

It’s a promising outlook for Google. The company is taking a bit of a gamble on Glass. It’s a neat concept that offers some intriguing possibilities, but getting the mainstream on board is seen to be a bit of a hurdle. Epps doesn’t see that as much of an issue, citing 21.6 million US consumers interested in wearable computing tech.
