If Newmont makes an offer on Questex will you take $1 or $3.

Are you aware that Newmont Corporation owns 16.13% of Questex's 24 Million Common Shares issued and outstanding.

Did you know that Newmont Corporation is the World's leading gold company and a producer of copper, zinc and lead. ( They trade in TSX-NGT @ $71.70  and NYSE-NEM.

I too am very optimistic as a shareholder, keep your fingers on the pulse as announcements are on the way. ( I see insiders keep buying the stock in the public market, do you ever wounder why???).
They must know something, as they are closer to the picture). (Due to the  oldman winter we may have to wait a few months so be it, I will jus keep buying more and rest is history.

If Newmont wants my shares, they can have it for $3. This baby has legs. and I will wait.

I believe when we think about QEX’s ‘worth/value’ it’s important we keep in mind that we only have about 25M shares outstanding – not like many other companies with between 80-200M shares.    For example:  let’s say Castle is now worth about $100M.  I know we haven’t made a discovery yet, but GTT has and it is worth $456M.  That would mean Castle, by itself, is worth $4 ...more

FIRST, certainly QEX is now in a prime position to get bought out by Newmont.  YES it would be so nice to keep the parcels and just lets go for the buyout,,,,dont forget the share spread if QEX can maintain a low share spread.  So lets look at that.  say we have 25 million ounces and if we sold and got what GTT got with her 130 million shares,, well the math on the back of my napkin ...more

FWIW, I wouldn’t vote to sell until offer is at a minimum over $10.  Seriously, this situation is unique with the GT buyout, castle on trend with tatogga, and NO present drilling at depth at tatogga.  With such a low share float, questex looks possibly like a perfect storm situation. Disclosure:  I own shares of questex, just my opinions and i’m a nut for speculating in junior ...more

HB – I couldn’t agree more with your comment “…Seriously, this situation is unique with the GT buyout, castle on trend with tatogga….”    My earlier post was aimed at trying to hi-lite the importance of our small share float, when thinking about value per share, as well as the potential value of our other excellent properties.    Castle has always been important to us, but ...more

NM - i agree 100 percent.  The potential for elephant discoveries here is incredible.  I’m loaded up - and ready for the action to start. Disclosure:  I own shares of wuestex, just my opinions, not investment advice.

I am a fundamentalist that take a qualitative approach; the calm before the storm makes sense for QEX, the concept of opportunity time must be100% secure. (No PUMP & DUMP). As a shareholder I am impressed with the direction the management team is taking this company. Sometimes patience is virtue, due to oldman winter the Golden Triangle area must be ignored until June and drilling highlights ...more

G - Book value is often not the major factor for a junior explorer.  These speculative plays are burning matches — the fundamentals rarely look good.  The reason questex is a great opportunity ... location, location, location ... with better management than predecessor.  Also, the GT acquisition greatly increases the odds in our favor.  Regardless of value fundamentals, share ...more

Great points! When I spoke to Tony last summer around the time of the PP, he said that drilling in the Golden triangle was significantly more expensive than usual due to covid and other issues. I believe the ball park range was around $250/m, which seems to me to be at least $100/m higher than usual. I think that's also partially due to SKE's incredibly aggressive drill campaign which has ...more

JF - Excellent points!  Personally, I'm not adverse to some smart joint ventures.  Questex has many good targets -- and I would prefer to keep the share structure low while exploring as many as possible.  While it is tempting to go it alone for the big score, the cost of drilling in the GT can potentially sink a company with a low cash position like questex.  With such a ...more

Yeah drilling from a low cash position is basically gambling 20% or more of your share value on a Geologist's geological interpretation of where to drill that is fed by virtually no sub-surface data. JVs with a company that has good data from nearby and provides cash is always a good decision. It both de-risks the investment in QEX and increases the chances of success significantly.  I ...more

Excellent, thanks. In an intervju with crux invest Nov 2020, Tony B Said they plan to get 5 to 7M, and maybe get a partner to explore 1 or 2 of the claims as well. Listen to the intervju, finans start in about 15min. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iVVViVc92wU

Would like to add my personal speculative opinion. Tony B Said in the same intervju that 1M isn't enough to explore the claims, so to me, 2 scenarios get unfolded. 1) They will raise the 5-7M maybe from the open market, possible PP, hopefully without too much dilution. 2) Newmont take the relationship to a new level, which i believe is the most possible scenario. They bought a " ...more

Tony said almost the exact same thing to me on the phone prior to the PP and it completely killed my interest in participating in that financing. Who in their right mind takes a position in a company where the management starts talking about 25-50% dilution???  I like Tony, he's very sharp and made time to talk with me, but these comments were based on (in hindsight) overly optimistic ...more

I know many will disagree with that last post, but I'd like to point something out: https://questex.ca/site/assets/files/4311/2021-02-quex-cp.pdf On slide 13 is shows MC (~$15.5M) and total exploration expenditures from 2011-2020 ($38.1M).  My opinion is rather extreme, but junior exploration is a value destructive business if not done right. The odds of success are low, and so the ...more

I aslo want to say that a private placement does not mean retail investors can't participate. If you hold at least 1 share when a PP is announced (ie at the record date) you can participate in the PP (up to $15k CDN in any 12 month period) using the existing shareholder exemption, depending on the terms of the deal. You don't need to be an accredited investor to use this exemption. Last ...more
