If they were discussing this deal for any length of time management and directors should have been prohibitied from selling/buying and I think that stays the same till deal is completed? Not sure what the rules are there - any helP/

simply put,  can't trade if you have insider knowledge. ie, if they know something we don't, they can't trade. Is passing your books out for companies to have a look at worthy of a news report? They must have know about this impending deal for at least a short while.
