Why should Legault upset his green congregation by revoking the ban soon to be made into law. After all it was passed almost unanimously by the Quebec National Assembly, as one does in banana republics and Putin’s duma. So, he can wipe his hands and say there is nothing I can do about it when Germany`s chancellor Scholz comes to Canada to ask for Canadian natural gas to Europe.
What do some thousand Europeans freezing to death in the coming winter matter, compared to upholding Quebec’s fake green image?
Neither does Quebec need the income from the production of natural gas, as they will continue as money-sucking leeches from the greater Canadian economy for many years.
