black swans
As i finish the book, years late as everyone has been talking about it for years, I realize how relevant it is. Could it be possible we have teh world's largest gold deposit? Methinks it possible, albeit constrained by limited water resources, and at the end of a terribly long and difficult supply chain. I wonder about TZ confiscation, outright or draconian percentages, armed lawlessness, excessive drought drying up our rivers or nearly so, a too early buyout, ceo early demise (rob being hard to replace with his African negotiating skills). Keeps it all interesting. On the other hand, mewonders what in the world Rbyc will do with all that cash, as little as 18 months from now. share buybacks, massive dividends ($1/share by 2015?). doesn't seem possible to reinvest economically significant returns of billions of $, not unless they wanna become a midlevel junior with multiple properties.

Yes, but aren't Black Swans BAD things? There must be another metaphor for what we all hope RBYC will turn out to be. The Spanish used to chase this kind of thing all over the place, so I guess we could use "El Dorado".....
