Curtis... Republican? No WAY

I am a Canadian, and my observations are the REPUBLICANS got the US into this mess over the 8 years of their reign.  The US financial crisis happened on their watch.  Bush, like the Canadian Conservative government, pi$$ed away their budgetary surplus into massive deficits... or have you forgotten that?

IMHO, it is Obama that saved the US from a depression and 20% unemployment rate.  It will take the US a good 5 to 10 years to get back to reasonable health, but I think Obama, given the chance, can do it.

The first thing you have to do is to bring back onshore, the production of goods and services sent off to the third world.  Bring back your call centers from Bangladesh, Budapest, and Argentina.  Force your corporations to do this.  Support US-based producing corporations.  The US consumers will have to pay a little more for a shirt, a little more for your phone and internet services, but at least AMERICANS will have jobs.

I'm climbing off my soap box now...

not gonna be on the soap box longthe financial and mortgage crisis was under the skirt chasing President's watch as he and Barney Franks gave credit to those that really couldn't pay the tab .. now  we have foreclosures, a low property value as dumping occurs etc. the majority of the surplus funded the war and guess what .. we sleep at night ...with  out fear .. Right on Dogone...so many forget that it was a democratic led house that put the foundation together for the sub prime melt down and the anti Bush media that pinned the blame entirely on the Republicans. Of course that was easy to do since GB had difficulty chewing bubble gum and walking. It's time for some good news. Oh...and RED if you happen to read this....it's not about Rick Wilson ...more

Not Barney Frank, but Franklin Raines, I believe was the first of the "Big Business" boys to follow Clinton's advice and give themselves big bonuses for each and every sub-prime mortgage as went out the door.Congress made Raines give back $90 million or so but let him keep the lions share of his profits from running Fanny Mae into the ground.Democrats and Republicans both are to ...more

No disagreement here with that analysis.....and main stream media ( who is now controlled by 6 major corporations ) is wondering why they can't get the people to drink the kool-Aid anymore. Seems like people are clearly saying the fix is in no matter which of the current party's is in power ( can you say incumbents ). Hope we see a major shake up. I hope people go back to their roots. fact is that Americans bought in to Obama's charismatic speeches just like they did with Jimmy Carter. Carter was and is a terrific gentleman, but totally infective as a economic leading president. Obama is a close second. It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise in November that voters want action .. not words.
