I think this merger will be great

I am an Aura share holder. In my opinion, this merger will be great for share holders of both stocks. Both stocks are under valued. Rio Novo has great properties but no cash. Aura has lots of cash, but they need new development to spend it on. This is a perfect marriage. Bringing these companies together is going to create a lot of value for share holders in both stocks.

I have to agree AlfTanner. As an RN shareholder I have gone to bed every night wondering if the lights would still be on at the RN office when I woke up. Is it a great deal for me? No. But at least something is now being done and moving forward. We can talk all we want as back seat CEO's what RN is really worth but if nobody else was willing to step up to the plate this is what ...more

@thisldu3 How do you know that nobody else was willing to step up to the plate? Do you think that they updated the DFS and cleaned the balance sheet because they thought no one was interested.

I have know idea what has been happening other than what we all see in market land, which has been nothing. What shenanigans took place behind closed doors we will never know. We can run with all kinds of conspiracy theories but at the end of the day only one person controlled our destiny for better or worse. We have all known that for years. We chose to stick it out and not sell.     ...more

Are you being intentionally thick? If I understand it correctly, the rule MI 61-101) seems to indicate that the minority shareholders must approve the merger. I hold north of 1 million shares and again, I will be voting no. 10 Cents a share based on the current price of Aura? Not me. Not now. Not ever. With Britos owning (indirectly) 65% in RN and 52% in Aura do you honestly think that they ...more

Metalsguy, before you make your desision, take a close look at Aura. Aura is an extreme value stock trading at a P/E around 3, and it has 50M in cash. In many respects, it is a better value than Rio. This deal might be great for both Rio and Aura share holders. Do not let your frustration cloud your analysis of this merger. If you objectively look at what this deal will do for Rio, you will see ...more

@AlfTanner My initial reaction was in part based on a similar situation I had with another investments about 3 years ago. That did not end well. I got out with about a 1% gain and that was because I bailed out before completely tanked. After several discussions with other investors, even though I still think Britos benefits disporportionately, I will wait to hear the specifics of the deal and ...more

You should base it on the exchange ratio which yields 11.7 cents for RN based on the ORA share price. You should also consider what the combined company will be worth and how else RN would be able to develop its properties. I joined you as an RN shareholder the last few days given the spread.

Metalsgu1 you are making me feel good. Now I know I am not the only stupid one that bought a large number of shares. Thanks, you made my evening.

thisldu, metalsguy reminds me of that expression, "cut off one's nose to spite one's face."  He finally has an opportunity to get this company on the right track, but he is so angry at Brito, that he is willing to blow the deal.  Please put your anger aside and look objectively at the merits of the deal.  These companies are a perfect match.  Aura has the ...more
