He explained that Pemex Will continue to further this business scheme to do business with other companies in the sector to expedite its internationalization process and become part of the group of the largest and most profitable oil companies in the world. During his first day at the 2018 OTC, Trevio Medina took part in a series of meetings with the senior managers of leading oil companies, with whom he shared details about the 7 blocks for which Pemex is looking for partners to develop production projects. This is the result of the approval, on the part of the governance of the National Hydrocarbons Commission (acronym in Spanish CNH), of the new call for bids and bidding process for 7 new Pemex farm-outs. By request from Pemex Exploracin y Produccin, the 27 contract areas were grouped into 7 clusters located in the states of Veracruz, Tabasco and Chiapas: the contracts with a duration of 30 years with the possibility of two 5-year extensions each were named: Artesa, Bedel Gasifero, Jusp Teotleco, Giraldas Sunapa, Cinco Presidentes, Bacal-Nelash and Lacamango. The Pemex CEO affirmed that the approval of the call for bids and bidding process by the CNH for the new farm-outs is crucial to bolster the profitability of the State-owned Productive Company and this is a new opportunity to establish new strategic partnerships for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons. Throughout his various meetings with industry leaders at the OTC, Trevio Medina referred to the companys results for the first quarter of the year, thus confirming that Petrleos Mexicanos is on the right track to boost its profitability in those business areas that are showing the greatest promise for growth. If we want to grow efficiently, we must do so in the same way as everyone else in the business, through partnerships and seeking out the best in their fields. This is yielding very good results and helps us consolidate ourselves as a more profitable and effective company, the Pemex CEO stated during a meeting with GHP and PESA. At the OTC, Carlos Trevio stated that it is important for Pemex to maintain a global attitude, as the company is one of the largest oil producers in the world and it must assume its standing as such. He also held a meeting with the president of Statoil, Eldar Saetre, with whom he undersigned a cooperation agreement for the exchange of best practices, which will benefit both companies. Furthermore, the CEO met with various companies of the service industry to analyze the use of new technologies, while the subsidiary productive companies of Petrleos Mexicanos offered their services to operation companies from various countries. Throughout his working tour, Carlos Trevio Medina will continue to hold meetings with some of the leaders of the energy and oil sector from over 100 countries, to continue promoting the internationalization process of the State-owned Productive Company and so achieve the goals of the Business Plan for 2017 2021.
