A plausible scenario. Why would anyone telegraph a large sell at a price 4 cents lower 2 hours prior to trading.

No good idea to short, if together with Chevron Sintana discovers another monster oil field in Orange Basin after our Mopane discovery. Gas does'nt seems to be an issue for Galp... "Silva also suggested that, so far, Galp’s exploration activities have not encountered the drawbacks of high gas condensate concentrations in the wells it has been appraising — an issue that has meanwhile affected some peers exploring nearby" from  https://www.upstreamonline.com/exploration/-this-will-be-a-keeper-galp-chief-upbeat-on ...more

In April Galp Energia announced that well tests in the Mopane 1x reached 14,000b/d max limit, oil was light with low viscosity minimal CO2 and no Hs2. So looks like 2 narratives out there! Think I will stick with what WE know!!
Comment by Ebenizer3 on Nov 07, 2024 1:00pm
That's 14,000 boe: from the NR. Look time will tell and Galp seems to be excited, when the deal gets done then you can celebrate. Hopefully sooner than later. Good luck to all. "Well test flows reached the maximum permitted limit of approximately 14,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, suggesting that the broader Mopane complex could become a significant commercial discovery"
Comment by farrell90 on Nov 08, 2024 12:04am
Interesting posts ,but Galp has stated several times the Mopane drilling results shows no prolems with gas and the oil tested has no significant impurities. Hopefully the upcoming 4 well drilling program will confirm the same. Thanks for posting. Farrell

The Sintana/Galp-Mopane discovery is the sweetest spot in Namibia offshore currently, compared to the Total/Venus discovery and compared to the Shell discoveries. best summary Fingers crossed that the coming exploration wells from Sintana/Chevron and Sintana/Pancontinental (Saturn) deliver world class results as well.

Ruh Roh... Companies including Shell, TotalEnergies, Chevron, and Portugal’s Galp Resources are drilling for oil in the Orange Basin off the Namibian coast. They are striking oil, too. Shell struck oil at a prospect called Graff, estimated to contain up to 1.7 billion barrels of crude. TotalEnergies’ Venus discovery could turn out to be even bigger, containing up to 3 billion barrels of oil. Galp ...more

GALP has PUBLICLY stated GAS is NOT a MOPANE problem!  Do you think he is lying?
Comment by FatsDomino on Nov 10, 2024 10:54pm
weasel words were used: Silva also suggested that, so far, Galp’s exploration activities have not encountered the drawbacks of high gas condensate concentrations in the wells it has been appraising. That statement can easily be walked back. watch for it.

Appears Galp is putting its money where its mouth is.
Comment by geomanx02 on Nov 11, 2024 10:23am
On more than one occasion Galp described the reservoirs as being "very gassy".......but....now that they are a "seller" the reservoirs are not nearly as "gassy" as previously thought.....LOL The problem with the gas is not related to the required infrastructure to get it to shore....the problem is that there is no Nambian market for the gas ...thus suspect this will ...more

Cap........Glass is totally empty at the moment....sold holdings a few weeks back. On the bright side my bank account is full and my new Shelby Mustang has a full tank of gas. Will be back in sub $0.50.......if it gets there....if it doesn't....am a happy camper after 10+ years of holding this stock. GLTA

The Venus discovery has been described as having natural  gas: however Galp has repeatly stated that natural gas is not an issue in Mopane.
Comment by Theonewhostocks on Nov 11, 2024 5:02pm
Then why are they collapsing after such a grand discovery?
Comment by geomanx02 on Nov 11, 2024 6:33pm
Regardless of what Galp says, gas is a problem  but it can be solved with time and money. No one wants cash flow pouring out of the Orange Basin more than the Nambian government. Think there will be a resolution to the problem as operators bring pressure on the Nambian government....the resolution being limited flaring until gas gathering infrastructure can be implemented.
Comment by celestialman10 on Nov 12, 2024 10:24am
So, you know more than GALP?  A problem with a solution, PROBLEM solved!
