Let's see/read what Bill Bonner

of Brickburn Asset Mgmt has to say about SGL....he is scheduled for the 1pm EST Marketcall segment today on BNN.

I do not understand all the whining about the dividend pay-out here...give it a rest already....take the 0.0225cts and re-invest it somewhere else in the mkt or just go out and spend it on yourself....but to complain non-stop about getting paid to wait is in my books not very productive....the Co. has stated very clearly they are paying out a dividend unless something changes....so far they have kept the pay-out  even with the production curtailed at Dixonville they are able to continue....maybe they know something shareholders are not privvy to,just yet?

Consider that if they were ever to reduce their divy policy all the "complainers" will come out and deride the decision!

The shares are holding up fairly well(not great for sure - might even drop further) in this mkt, considering the Dixonville problems....that should say something about the assets the Co. has.  I do not see much volume going thru anymore, seems to have leveled off...if George wanted to stir the pot a bit then this would be a good time to act....but by all accounts he has not....so I am to think/speculate that he see good times ahead for SGL...or he(George) is in waiting mode.

Just my opinion and do your own DD as always.

I just listened to Bill Bonner, the entire program can be viewed at: https://www.bnn.ca/Video/player.aspx?vid=395775 He made a number of interesting recommendations.  But, neither himself or any of the callers to the show brought up Spyglass Resources.  Looks like we will have to wait until next time to hear his opinion on SGL.

Looking at one of his funds(Dominion Equity  Resource)....SGL does not show up in the top ten....he had it last Fall but might have turned it in for a more gassy name, which he really likes now...or it is just a lower weighing in his funds today....I like Bill and his energy calls as they give some good entry points most of the time....  Maybe Rob(another very good energy caller) will get ...more

Seems like all we were able to get out of the 3 fund mgrs on BNN yesterday and today was a comment from Joanne last night in which she says had SGL at some point, but left because of the debt situation.  Not surprising since she seems very, very ,very debt averse on all her calls...to each their own for sure.  Rob today was all about gas....setting up for the Jan/Feb pop in 2015 if his ...more

Seems to me that Joanne's aversion to the debt is quite reasonable and understandable. SGL;s debt is not long dated bonds that are insulated from movements on interest rates like many companies with high leverage. Their debt matures every year or so and needs to be refinanced each year, so they are constantly at the mercy of the bank, and dependent on their relationship with the bank. in any ...more

Just to keep the "balance" flowing here...Andrew McCreath/BNN has come out with his "theory" on Nat/Gas prices going forward.....lower....because US power demand/consumption is down due to the cooler summer weather they(USA)....maybe Ontario as well... are having. High storage + Less demand  = lower price for the fuel and therefore he has come out with a very small list of ...more
