Food security is a global concern and, as we're on the verge of a global food crisis, potash is a critical mineral in the support of agricultural production based on its capabilities as a fertilizer makes it.
The US imports 95% of its potash requirements from Canada, however, record low Mississippi River levels are currently disrupting fertilizer deliveries to the US Corn Belt, which in turn disrupts the supply chain as the demand for fertilizer outpaces domestic supply.
One company positioned to capitalize on this deficit is Sage Potash (SAGE.v).
SAGE is exploring a large-scale, high-grade potash resource within the Paradox Basin of Southeast Utah which is known to host large, high-quality potash resources.
In pioneering a new scalable, environmentally friendly and cost-effective method of potash production in the US, SAGE is on track to ensure a short path to initial production.
SAGE is strongly positioned to satisfy a significant portion of US potash demands as its land portfolio consists of almost 90,000 acres of mineral leases and an inferred resource of 279.5 MMT high grade potash.
The geology surrounding SAGE's leases are quite significant as there are "likely several hundred million tonnes [of potash] around the land they control" that can be added into SAGE's holdings with additional land acquisitions.
