Sage Potash Corp (Ticker: SAGE.v of SGPTF for US investors) is determined to establish itself as a key player in the American potash industry, recognizing the urgent need for domestic supply in the United States. Currently the US heavily depends on other countries for its potash supply but as the costs of fertilizer and food continue to soar, the importance of self-sufficiency is becoming increasingly evident.
In a recently released video, SAGE's CEO delves into what potash is, its significance and its role in food production. Watch here: https://youtu.be/r-XCkghE1Io
He explains that there are two primary forms of potash: potassium chloride (KCl) and sulfate of potash (SLP). KCl, naturally found in sylvanite, serves as an ideal source of potassium for crops like corn, soybeans, and wheat. On the other hand, SLP, devoid of chloride, is better suited for plants that are sensitive to salt, including tobacco, marijuana, tomatoes, fruits, and various vegetables.
Central to SAGE's ambitions is the Sage Plain Potash Project, home to what is believed to be the largest untapped potash deposit in the United States. With an estimated inferred resource of 280 million metric tonnes, the Sage Plain Project boasts an immense reserve capable of supporting production for decades. Its optimal formation temperature and high potash purity make it an ideal candidate for state-of-the-art sustainable mining methods.
SAGE is currently diligently preparing for a Phase 1 Drill Hole Program and the development of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the property. These strategic initiatives align with SAGE's vision of contributing to the growth of the American potash industry and ensuring long-term domestic supply. Posted on behalf of Sage Potash Corp.
