Both used widely in agriculture as fertilizer to enrich soil and in livestock feed to support milk production, potash is key to fertile fields, healthy harvests, and feeding the world.
Despite this, the United States only produces about 6% of the potash required to support its massive agriculture industry. Sage Potash Corp. (Ticker: SGPTF or SAGE.v for Canadian Investors) is looking to challenge this by becoming the country's next potash producer.
SGPTF's Sage Plain Potash Project is located strategically in Utah's Paradox Basin. The Basin has abundant potash resources which are estimated to amount to 2 billion tons.
The 90,000-acre project itself was estimated by a comprehensive technical report to have a combined resource of 279.5 million metric tonnes of Sylvinite Potash spanning its upper and lower potash beds.
SGPTF believes that it can bring this resource into production within 1 to 2 years and is currently preparing for a Phase 1 Drill Hole Program at the project.
This drill program is expected to prepare SGPTF to create a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the project which will showcase the project's economic viability and potential.
Sage Potash is committed to developing the Sage Plain Project to both bolster the US potash industry and the nation's food security.
