Potash, a vital fertilizer derived from plant or wood ash, plays a pivotal role in supporting global food production. As sustainable agriculture gains prominence, the importance of potash in nourishing crops and enhancing agricultural yields becomes increasingly evident.
Despite its significance, the United States relies heavily on imports to fulfill its potash demand, with only one domestic producer, Intrepid Potash, meeting about 6% of the nation's needs.
In hopes of bolstering domestic potash production, Sage Potash Corp.'s (Ticker SGPTF or SAGE.v for Canadian Investors) is developing its strategically located Sage Plain Potash Project in Utah's Paradox Basin. This basin holds abundant potash resources estimated at a staggering 2 billion tons.
Covering 90,000 acres, the Sage Plain Project boasts an impressive estimated combined resource of 279.5 million metric tonnes of Sylvinite Potash across its upper and lower potash beds, as indicated in a comprehensive technical report.
SGPTF is actively working on preliminary engineering to release a PEA, Feasibility Study, and pilot production for the project.
The company believes it can achieve production within 1 to 2 years and is gearing up for a Phase 1 Drill Hole Program at the project.
