So the company confirms what contrarian told us.

They own 2% already. They are buying another 5%. In the end they will own 7%. Whoever 'they' are collectively.  Because sc2 did not exist when they acquired the 2%.  So it is a collection of interests etc.  I would have thought sherritt would have been slightly flattered that former employees are showing interest in the company and willing to put some skin in the game.

or...as contrarian also said... are thet tendering the 2% to themselves??  and thus will come out of it with 5% having only REALLY bought 3% more.  First come first serves makes a lot more sense in this context. If they tendered their shares first. They are in with their 2%. Weird. Can't wait to find out the actual results.
