Merger

Lacavera who started WIND MOBILE who inturn was bought out my SHAW, sees three takeaways from the takeover of Calgary-based Shaw: It will be very bad for consumers and generally bad for jobs, but will be good for spurring 5G infrastructure.

It's the 5G infrastructur that will be the GLUE for this MERGER!

From what I read, the merger will still go through even if Rogers has to sell Freedom Mobile in the process.

That's the big point we should be talking more about, isn't it?  It's not as black-and-white as the deal happening or not.  Much more likely is that they will be forced to divest one or both mobile businesses.  If that happens, what does it mean for us and the share price? Even without forming one wireless business, they could still benefit from synergies by signing ...more

I'm guessing that Shaw Shareholders will get $40.50 and if any thing the government wants done to allow the transaction, that will be on Rogers to do it.   Shaw shareholders will get $40.50.     So, unless it's a complete NO, then it's $40.50 for us. From what I've read, it's Rogers problem to sell the assets that they couldn't keep (due to regulation), not the other way around, so it shouldn't affect the buyout price.
