Commons Committee Insists Wireles be Sold

for the Shaw acquisition to proceed. I am very suprised no one on this board has commented on this development. I also wonder if this is only the first of the divestitures that will be required. Rogers accepted the hell or high water clause, so they will have to complete the purchase but it clearly is making the acquisition far less attractive to Rogers.

It's no surprise that they're going to be required to divest Freedom Mobile.  We could even see the news as positive, signalling that the merger isn't going to be completely blocked. The chance to build a second Canada-wide 5G backbone is still there, even if they do have to structure it so that the actual phone companies are customers (right?)
