Backlog
There always seems to be confusion about the "backlog" of work. People appear to think that this is work that should have been completed but the company is behind in doing it. This is not the case, the backlog refers to committments by clients to have work done sometime in the future i.e. a company signs for up for four projects, one done upon signing the committment order and the other three to be done in the future as the customer needs them.

That is the standard definition but it is not what Vidwrx has, atleast according to the company. Having committments from customers for future work certainly is not "something that companies want to avoid".

what we need to understand: Is Backlog a. commitments from customers that are a sure thing and will be fulfilled and paid no matter what or b. commitments from customers that are imminent but are postponed due to company inefficiencies ? Does anyone know and can help to clarify ?
