I worked on that deal, it was never closed with Facebook we were just in discussions.

Exactly. I would venture to say that they contrived to make it look like they were on the verge of capitalizing on their affiliation with Google and Facebook, just for appearances. Meanwhile George was taking the lion's share of any proceeds home, and the company was always short of funds.

They burned through cash like crazy. The kitchen cupboards overflowing with "snacks" and free beer and wine. Basically the company was run like a hugely profitable tech company. Unfortunately the money came from investors and not income.
