Streaming devices
Trooper, IMHO if they have access to 80% of the 3D TVs with LG and Samsung with the existing app, why bother with the other 20% - it isn't like any of the other TV manufacturers are heavily promoting 3D any longer to help capture the consumer's attention. It doesn't seem like it would facilitate international expansion since the gate keeper there appears to be the rights from the studios to deliver the content beyond the US and Canada, not the access to the 3D TV itself. Potentially they could deliver 3DGo content to the emerging VR headset market like Samsung GearVR since that has the ability to display stereo 3D, but I recently heard the Oculus effort may cost $2-$300 and it was referred to as the 'Segue of the games market' so it seems that VR would be more niche than a 3D TV initially and not worth the effort and expense. They should IMHO concentrate on getting it right on the SmartTV as opposed to further diluting their focus and attention for the sake of a press release [cynically].

I, and several of my friends have projectors, and I would like to be able to stream 3d through my blu-Ray player. We don't count in the TV numbers, but we would likely have a high participation rate for 3DGO since we like to watch in a theatre-like environment . . So it matters a lot to me. BigO

Absolutely. Projectors, pre-2012 3DTVs, and the "other 20%" make streaming devices important, especially as we expand internationally. For me, priority #1 is international expansion, #2 is streaming devices, #3 is even more content.
