Just one analyst asking questions

Disappointing.
I am at work so couldn't ask about their financing plans for the Okanagan facility. I could only listen with headphones on.

Holler said ".....fasten seat belts for next Q" or words to that effect.

Agreed. Expected a lot more meat from this call... they really should make these discussions more informative.

Unfortunate to hear that only one analyst asked questions (hopefully not the only permitted to ask questions). I assume they explained why NHS revenues dropped 30%? A bit of a concern with legalization around the corner, unless they have a good reason. I'll try to listen to the replay tonight, though it doesn't sound like there was anything noteworthy judging from the lack of conversation ...more

The COR is definitely for the Ok Falls site.  Re the drop in NHS revenues: The explanation wasn't really satisfying. David Negus, in his typical "uhh, you know, umm" fashion explained that they lost a position (a doctor left) in Alberta, and also they experienced some weakness in Calgary during the month of March but they expect it was temporary. They did mention that patient ...more

This release could be construed as being tailored for new investors as they conveniently omitted the quarter over quarter revenue decline. But at the same time no mention of CPL status in terms of completion date, propagation date, forward revenue expectations, etc. I understand the concept of not speculating, but at a pre-production stage some additional visibility should be provided enough so ...more

Agree. They could have taken either approach... looks like they went with the "show, don't tell" route. I'm fine with that as long as they deliver. A Sunniva bear (say, Alan Brochstein) would see the lack of advance information as evidence that they lack confidence about the state of things and have something to hide. To me, it's the opposite - I think they know what's in ...more

Agreed GOTMONEY. The management group are no PR experts, but they are true professionals and they are more concerned with long term growth and execution, so anyone that is looking for SP growth due to hype and/or projections will have to spread the word themselves. I do understand the naysayers though, as many of the mj companies have shady stories and are unaccountable for now. This story, once it ...more

It is apparent by now that Sunniva is being measured the traditional way, i.e., revenues and its valuation based on x times revenues. Even with a bank/debt financing of the Canadian facility, I do not see much sp appreciation coming. What will drive the sp in the next 6 months will be revenue generation from NHS (which is now disappointing), Vapor C business, Oil Extraction from Cali and sales of ...more

I think the issue is not the way Sunniva is measured, it's that it isn't really measured at all... the spotlight is on other stocks at the moment. No company in this sector is measured in the traditional way, and I don't see a reason for Sunniva to be exceptional in this regard. I think the name of the game is still hype and investor attention, which we should hopefully garner even ...more

The agreement is easily extendable beyond two years. It's a common misconception that this is a two-year agreement - the agreement is initially for two years, but can (and will, I think) be renewed if both sides agree to it in writing within 90 days of the end of the initial two year period. More importantly, it's not simply a wholesale supply agreement as Canopy will market Sunniva ...more

You're right, a member with the same concern and forwarded a message from IR that confirmed it is in fact for OK Falls, which is great news. Also good to know patient registrations are increasing. I still haven't had time to listen to the call, so thanks for the info!
Comment by Bluechip2 on Jun 02, 2018 7:34am
jmark80- a transcript of the call is on the website. Also mentions they have hired more doctors. Also, if you read closely the release for the COR letter, it states they will begin construction ' according to the design submitted'. So, current design on file with likely amendments as they progress. On another note, read that the DEA has declared that cbd is not a controlled substance and ...more

another big longer term competitive advantage that is not discussed much are the NHS medical clinics. The beauty of these are they accumulate long-term/life patients, basically mini open ended LTA arrangements. Also the level of Sunniva brand will continue to grow as a medication at these clinics due to competitive advantage of no referral fees, so basically can leverage this to increase others ...more

That's very true. They really should expand this model into the States... I wonder if this is what the California acquisitions would be about - establishing a foothold for NHS USA? It really would be amazing if they could create a North American chain of clinics. Extremely scalable. And instead of referring patients to external LPs, they could refer them to their own "tenants" or to ...more

fasten seat belts for next Q ??  that is the best news there will be a significant increase in revenue from the California ... here is what's coming next: Sunniva also has a state licensed extraction facility in operation capable of processing 500 lbs. (227 kg) of biomass a day, or 125,000 lbs. (56,700 kg) per year, into high margin drug delivery formats such as vape oil, capsules ...more
