informative interview, Holler mentions the extra acreage could be used for an additional facility and that it will be used for other markets beyond Canada. Also that as we assumed all secondary processes including extraction will be part of the facility, explains a little more about the extra square footage as compared to California.

I very much doubt that will happen. Exporting to countries that have yet to establish domestic supply is a short term business. Besides, cost of production in places like South America is a fraction of what it is in Canada, so if there is a viable export business they will dominate.

JMark80: Very true. Exhibit A: Khiron.  I think this whole concept of exporting to EU is far-fetched. There will be a supply glut in Canada. Growers will compete against each other and drive the prices down. Companies like Khiron will produce for peanuts and further aggravate the scenario. Sunniva will do fine since they are in CA where there is not much competition at all.  I am not a ...more

Agreed, mostly. There's still operation risk in California. I noticed you mentioned a company building a 1.7 million square foot greenhouse in Riverside. Rent is less than $3 square foot/month + electric generated on site. Sunniva will need to prove that their turn-key services for the 70% of phase 1 production they don't own has value.
