Yes, it's gonna be a green day. This will help solidify the Canopy contract for the Canadian facility, as well re-enforces the notion that if Sunniva delivers on producing the Canopy strains as detailed in the supply agreement and the spinout is approved, then the best bet is Canopy will take over the Canadian facility... JMHO.

@bluechip2, not really. " Canopy Growth now has ample cash to develop and market more cannabis-based products and move into more international markets. Don't look for the company to acquire other marijuana growers in Canada, though. Canopy said that it doesn't need additional capacity in its home country." https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-canopy-growth-corporation-stock ...more

@sunrize, yes that is true. Also on Kore than one occasion he stated that it didn't make sense because he would need to change too much infrastructure, etc., to meet Canopy standards. Now, Sunniva, as far as I know, is the only company scheduled to produce Canopy specific high end strains. In addition, the NHS clinics are a value added proposition that will bring additional.clients into the ...more

Hi Bluechip2, my guess is that Canopy wants to make sure that they have enough product in anticipation of demand from the likes of Constellation.

Should be a shortage after a few months of being legal in Canada
Comment by Bluechip2 on Aug 16, 2018 7:04am
hey Sunrize, yes that is true, but why Sunniva whom have had no facility even initiated? Anyhow, creating multiple options is always prudent. Another point on the spinout, you may agree with. Betting Sunniva Medical will be for sale, whether or not Canopy takes it, the proceeds going towards expansion plans in California and other states. This provides minimal diluted capital growth and unless ...more

Agree, Bluechip2. All good points.

It also would not surprise me if on August 29th or in and around there, Canopy is part of the financing plan for Okanagan campus, whether it is buying Sunniva shares/warrants or through 'Canopy Rivers', their upcoming investment arm, see below. One could also speculate that as part of that deal they could have an option to purchase the California assets upon legalization, kind of a subtle ...more

Thanks for the feedback Bluesguy and Sunrize, simply trying to disseminate today's news and get a better insight on tomorrow's with other investors' help. To be clear though, everything is speculative at this stage and laying as many optionalities out there as plausible based on the information at hand can at times be helpful. Anyhow, I have been following Canopy's trajectory for ...more

@Bluechip2: Canopy Rivers has taken out equity stakes in 8 companies with interests in brand rights, cultivation consultants and food processors. But notice that they don't have any stake in CULTIVATORS yet. The chances of them financing (in part, if not whole) the OK Falls facility with an equity stake are pretty high, imo.
Comment by Bluechip2 on Aug 20, 2018 8:30am
@sunrize- agreed. The Rivers joint venture with 80 proprietary genetic strains, the longest running extraction facilities in the US, an available network system in Canada in every province, global reach at IPO stage, not a bad exit strategy for the Canopy co-ceo's as well. Sunniva Canadian facility could be able to support the flagship California campus with producing non -THC (below yet to ...more

I suppose an eventual acquisition is not out of the question. Maybe Canopy could issue a loan to finance the facility, now that they're flush with cash. It's clear Anthony Holler et al can't get it done.
