SSO vs FR

SSO earns 12 + million to FRs 6.1. FR decreased their annual production guideline by 1 million ag eq while SSO mildly increases the bottom line from 8 -10 to 9-10 million ag eq for the 2nd quarter. Yet FRs mkt cap is 3.7 billion and SSOs 2.2 billion. What's the missing link here. Feel free to share because I'm confused. Glta Ss..

one is almost entirely a silver proiducer ( FR ), while SSO is almost entirely a gold producer...thats the big diff. Silver shares have radically outperformed gold producers this yr.

I would agree this is the case. The company has about 15 months worth of mineable silver at their one and only silver mine.  The good news is that they have plenty of cash in the bank to solve this problem in s form of JV, acquisition or organic growth.

Hey proud italian, thanks for chiming in.. That is what I initially thought but math just doesnt add up. To make it very simple and compare their market caps relative to their pure silver production is where this explaination doesnt hold water for me. FR produced 2.8 million oz ag versus SSOs 2.5 million last quarter (90% of FRs production) yet when I wrote that post SSOs mkt cap was roughly 65-70 ...more

I own both along with PAA. FR gets a premium due to Keith N...the guy is the best CEO in the business and has made shareholders tons of money...just look at what he payed and when he bought Silvercrest compared to when and at what price SSO bought Claude. The guy is amazing.  There are mant queston marks about SOI silver production going fwd and managenent has not hidden that. They may simply ...more

I agree that the premium on FR is related to "The KN Effect". Some of this has also rubbed off onto other companies such as First Finance and to a lesser extent Silvercrest metals.  FR is the Netflix of the silver stock market....meaning when describing silver stocks, FR is the company that everyone knows.  It isn't the top performing silver conpany but arguably the most ...more
