WTI vs. Brent spread

I find it interesting that the spread between the two is now under $5USD

Wasn't it the same last year at this time too?

WTI: 107.50 vs. 92.50 Brent: 112.50 vs. 97.50 At around $5 over the past 24 hrs. Brent down $17 since late June!! What the?! Global risk? What's that? Strange things happening all across the commodity markets. Gold!

Instead of poking fun at some our fellow posters,I have here a website and its charts that I believe will help everyone with stats regarding seasonality. Its based on averages only and not daily so dont bet your life on it. I hope the link works.  https://www.seasonalcharts.com/

I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic of WTI vs Brent spread, as your chart only shows the average monthly spot price of WTI up to 2012, and doesn't seem to show anything about Brent pricing - unless I'm not looking properly.   Here's a chart that actually shows the spread over the last 5 years in case anyone wants to see it.   https://ycharts.com/indicators ...more

Himmlers chart doesnt show anything about the oil's spread but it does provide detailed info on all commodities.Bottom right says 2000-2014 so the charts are a bit contradictory. However seasonality doesnt seem to change that much year to year as its all about averages. In his case its 12 to 14 years of averages. It also appears  of German origin. But then that figures with his name.
