With the U.S. in its sights, China moves to restrict rare earths exports. Could cobalt be next?

New rules from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology make clear that Beijing aims to tighten export controls on rare earth metals, a group of minerals essential to manufacturing electronics. Meanwhile, China has been on a cobalt buying binge, particularly from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

I've read different things on Cobalt. Might be only the old battery tech that's using it. I'll have to look it up, what's the chance we'll find some before it's no longer in vogue? I picked up  a few more at 18 cents today.

I don't see the big boys like kobold exiting the cobalt search. Besides the american-canadian joint inititiative on acquiring North american  strategic minerals is all about having strategically secure sources of metals... The chinese currently control the bulk of the cobalt supply chain and that makes america vulnerable. Only this week the chinese moved to tighten their monoplistic ...more

It is not just cobalt but gold and silver too... who knows whether teutons exhibit will attract some serious bidding for midas konkin and perhaps even fiji and tonga and even gold mountain... It looks as if a major mineral property real estate rush is on in the golden triangle....
