Globe says SilverCrest seen trading at a discount

2012-01-06 03:10 MT - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Jan. 6, edition that Jennings Capital analyst Stuart McDougall sees good value in SilverCrest Mines ($2.05). The Globe's Jody White writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. McDougall says SilverCrest Mines' new La Joya silver-copper-gold discovery is yet another reason the miner is his top pick for 2012. The initial resource estimate for the Durango, Mexico, project far exceeded Mr. McDougall's tonnage and contained metal expectations. However, it fell short on grades. "That said, we do not see this as an issue, given the more recent drill results, stated potential amenability to conventional flotation methods and obvious upside at higher cut-off grades should that become necessary. ... In short, we think the stock continues to trade at a significant discount to its peer group, making it an even more appealing investment opportunity with the new resource estimation." Mr. McDougall is sticking with his "speculative buy" rating and price target of $5. Canaccord Genuity analyst Nicholas Campbell maintained his "speculative buy" rating on SilverCrest Mines in the Eye column on Nov. 16, when the stock could be had for $1.83.

so what is going to push us through the 2.23 area . Certainly the last 2 announcements had little effect on the stock. To this point its only been stock buying after stock loss season. What other catalyts do they have left to move this stock ? Even a big price move in silver hasnt moved this stock

At this time no catalyst required. The stocks got momentum.

Geez, the stock is up 25% from the lows during the last month. Up 57% over 3 months.  All this with the price of silver lower today than over the last 3 months.... and you are complaning that it is not moving fast enough ??!?  I'm pretty happy up to now.

Looks like the stock is finally being re-rated based on La Joya. Blew through the 52 week high.

Hey Tabby,   I'd prefer that SVL move on fundamentals than on promotion.  We'll make it through the $3 - $4 range alright, but it will be legitimate.  Then funds will seriously consider us.   Cheers,   Brit
