Can do better by investing in a gic. Don't need to worry about the buybacks bankrupting the company. They wasted half a billion on their own shares and their investment is worth 60% of what they paid. What next- debt reduction? More option at a cheap price so they can use buybacks to cash out at no risk?

Under the $1 billion share buyback program, $322 million1 of shares have been repurchased to date, or approximately 1% of Barrick’s issued and outstanding shares at the time the program was announced.
