Airlines Government Interaction

I keep seeing unions representing airlines and their employees sending letters to the government advising against further restrictions. But does anyone think air Canada is reaching out to the gov directly advising against these restrictions? 

the unions keep saying they don't hear back from the government and they don't consult airlines on job-killing restrictions. At what point does Air Canada's management get on the line with Trudeaus bunch of incompetent ministers and call and end to this B.S.?

mlarson AC shares should be worth about 8 bucks right now if not for being bailed out by the feds!  Who do you think is paying AC's employees 75% of their pay cheque is being picked up by Trudeau's bunch of incompetant ministers so as a taxpayer I also cry BS.  Who is suppose to pay the 1.5 billion spent on the airlines alone so far and more to come?  I guess the guy ...more

Hard to give a break to a poster so ILLInformed as give me a break. Idiotic. AC chose to limit the use of CEWS to absolutely necessary employees who are needed, much to the government's surprise, and the Union's angst. AC could have quadrupled the use of CEWS but other unnecessary expenses would have been incurred, like the US based airlines have done. AC saved taxpayers and shareholders a ...more

Julie You are wrong learn to read a financial statement!  They also gained big on the Chorus side!  To compare it to the US airlines is stupid as the US gov just gave them money!  Canada decided to make the airlines pay employees rather than executives!  Air Canada on exit will be in deep for years.  AC and Chorus have been financing unencombered assets!  It is like ...more
