Convinced?

I am not convinced yet that the vaccine will end the pandemic and the resurgence of new variants.
if it does, we'll be flying high with AC.
if it doesn't...

The vaccine will not end the " pandemic".  Neither will masks, social distancing or hiding in your basement.  Spanish flu never went away.  It mutated into seasonal flu.  It's time to stop hiding from covid, instead learn to live with it.  Enough is enough.  Chancellor Merkel has said as much.    https://www.history.com/news/1918-flu-pandemic ...more

OffTheBalance I hate people and their stupidity!  My wife has worked as an RN in nursing homes for 20 years.  They go into break out 2-3 times every winter and have to lock down visitors coming or going.  They lose 1 maybe 2 at the most when they are in lock down.  So when Covid first hit nursing home here lost over half yes half the whole nursing home died.   So tell ...more

Communication begin with commun vocabulary.  ''A pandemic is an epidemic of an infectious disease that has spread across a large region, for instance multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people. A widespread endemic disease with a stable number of infected people is not a pandemic. Widespread endemic ...more

Of course you've whitewashed the fact of no excess deaths by comparing Drs and scientists who disagree with public health "experts" and MSM, with Nazi scientists.  So much for the facts?

Just a note:  Don't be impressed by people from prestigious universities. Some used their respected status to make politics.  The Trump scientist Bozo (adviser) I wrote about yesterday (Scott Atlas) was a senior fellow from Stanford. He was respected as commentator at FOX; but as adviser in charge he did a fiasco. He has to quit after 5 months,  Speaking on TV , writing on ...more

OTB I am not sure how you can make absolute stupid comments based on misuse of fact and posted on the internet!  I could misuse facts too if you want!  In fact, here is a simple one for you.  The 1918 pandemic actually ran more than the single year however in the US there was approximately 650k deaths give or take by the Spanish Flu.  The US will hit that 650k death mark in the ...more

Between 2000 and 2020, Canada’s population increased by 24 percent from 30.5 million to 38 million, an annual compound growth rate of 1.1 percent.  In 2000, the number of Canadians age 70 or older represented 8.4 percent of the population.  In 2020, the number of Canadians age 70 or older represented 12.2 percent of the population.   Individuals between 85 and 89 alone ...more

Statistics are meaningless unless you put them in context!  I could pull apart every stat and show how stupid people can be!  So I will just use one to make it easy to understand for the simple minded.  Factman stat below which would be automatically thrown out of any legitimate study!  You are comparing the average deaths of years where there was no lock downs, no social ...more

Good job, we really appreciate  but Stats Canada did the count with more acurate methods; (Copy from the Stats Can site)  From January to mid-December 2020, there were an estimated 296,373 deaths in Canada, representing an excess of 13,798 deaths above and beyond what would have been expected had there been no pandemic. This is about 5% more deaths than ...more

Wrong again.  Drug overdoses increased by 4-5k.  Mental health officials predicted suicide deaths increasing by 3-8k. Both due to lockdowns.  Aging pop means death should increase by 2-3k per year.  That pretty much accounts for the 13k increase.  So where are the 23k Covid deaths?
Comment by givemeabreak1 on Mar 28, 2021 10:29pm
There is no factual way of proving that something did not happen.  It is like saying there was a bomb placed outside of the AC Centre that might have killed 5000 but the bomb squad stopped it.  Now someone can make the arguement well it might have only killed 10 people,  Same with Covid and that is the stupid arguement they are making.  They are not allowing for any intervening ...more

These numbers are revealing. Suicides, and deaths from all the other diseases Neglected during Covid will add up. So the Radio Canada crowd can remain more Frightened. No excess deaths directly from Covid.

1b1 I think the interesting number and possibly the most relevant when doing a year to year comparion ie non Covid to Covid is the deaths recorded for those under 45 given they would be more likely to not social distance, be working and not wear a mask originally.  So the death increase was 24%.  That tells you the overall increase Canada wide with no social distancing mask etc would ...more

I read the Stats Canada report too before I posted.  Be cautious about a year-over-year comparison.  Context is important, and that is why historical trends need to be considered in any analysis. Expect 2020 deaths from influenza to be way down from previous years.  People under 50 are more likely to be hospitalized from influenza than from Covid-19.  Separating those who died ...more

To your point. 2013/2015/2017 all had increased deaths in Canada between 10-13k.  Bad flu years?  Natural cycle? But given that fact we KNOW Covid restrictions have led to increase drug useage and mential health issues.  There is NO EXCESS deaths due to Covid itself. Covid restrictions...yes.  The govt will try everything in its power to hid these facts since they are ...more

I don't think that we can see conspirationists in all government agencies. But under 45 the deaths are less from COVID than from indirect consequences of restrictions like overdoses and suicides.  That could be the great conclusions of post-COVID analysis. The opposite impact of COVID on people aged 50 and more and consequences of restrictions on people aged of 50 and under.  A big ...more

The govt is committed to the current plan of action, so they'll make the case for the path they've taken.  For the most part, all they're doing is shifting the burden.  Like the bump on the rug.  You step on it, and it moves somewhere else.  You step on it again, and it moves elsewhere.  One more step, and a snake slithers out the side. What matters is ...more
