Increases Common Share Dividend for the 29th consecutive year

CALGARY, ABJan. 13, 2022 /CNW/ - ATCO Ltd. (TSX: ACO.X) (TSX: ACO.Y)

 

The Board of Directors of ATCO Ltd. today declared a first quarter dividend of 46.17 cents per Class I non-voting (TSX:ACO.X) and Class II voting share (TSX: ACO.Y), a three per cent increase over the 44.83 cents paid in each of the four previous quarters. This common share dividend is payable March 31, 2022, to shareholders of record on March 3, 2022.

What is the current payout ratio of both ATCO and CUL? Looks to me like it's bordering on 100%. I know they are very proud of consecutive dividend increases but I have no doubt that earnings increases would be more beneficial. Why is the dividend going up if earnings are flat or declining?

good point.  no growth in earnings but keep a high dividend.  I dont think Jason Kenney is going to make a difference.  .

Just noticed the stock has been dropping steadily since they appointed Jason Kenney to the Board of Directors. What a strange coincidence.  When Alberta got rid of Kenney, things improved.
