Used Car Market

Carvana and CarMax news of very soft used car prices dominate the news these days. It is noteworthy that Auto trader Canada report relatively stronger pricing in canada unlike their US peers. ACQ takedown is unwarranted IMO and with SIB starting tomorrow, we will have renewed demand for the shares.
Acumen lower TP to $40 stating: “ACQ highlights that they haven’t seen the same destruction in used vehicle values and sales volume that has been well documented in the U.S. but do remain cautious at this time,”
Remember, ACQ is more than just used cars!

The same thing happened last quarter, where Carmax dissappointed and whined about the used car market, ACQ stock declined some in sympathy, and then ACQ reported their earnings for the same quarter where they made money hand over fist.  They showed strong markets in all categories, except new car sales, that solely due to restricted supply but ACQ still led the Canadian market in that ...more
