I regret that Tony left the company but on the otherhand I'm very very happy that Natascha Vaz and Eric Kallio are member of the AEM board.  I really think that in the future Natascha has a big chance to become the leading person of AEM   

I will keep my shares   AEM will not grow that fast then KL   But on the other hand the risk profile is a lot lower now.  A good dividend and finally the start of a share buyback.  The company will grow by itself but the rising goldprice will do the most part of the job
300 million extra revenus with a 100 dollar price rise of gold.   And one thing AEM has more then KL : A belief in a rising gold price.

Given the steady drop in AEM valuation, I wonder if Tony suddenly saw something that made him realize he had to get out NOW? KL was an aggressive company that delivered. I was a presentations by executives and they did what they said they were going to do. I know that AEM has a great reputation, but the constant sale of shares indicates that more and more people are seeing something that they don& ...more

Yes , Tony Makuch had a very good record of producing value for shareholders, and I cant say that i know much about his successor. I did take a small position today, because i believe gold is headed a lot higher, and the mining operations in AEM at this time dont look to have many hiccups. But it was a bit of a shock to me that Makuch left suddenly after he was touted to be the CEO upon merger ...more

Back in '03 Agnico had a rock fall at La Ronde.  I was just learning the sector but had the benefit of a long-time Montreal CPA and mining investor on the Wheaton River board.  So, when they had a rock fall and the stock dropped, before buying I asked about the company’s reputation for safe, cost-efficient operation ...more
