Facebook - Interesting Reading & Not the Usual Conversation

  • I am not a Facebook user as I have more important things to do in my life, but I was poking around on Almonty's FB page and I noticed a few things.....
  1.  The people who manage the FB page:  5 from Australia, and 1 from the UK
  2. Liebherr Mining likes Almonty's FB page.......What does that mean?   I think when someone likes a page, any changes to it, the person who likes it gets notified.  Does anyone know if this is how FB works?........Next Question:  Why does Liebherr Mining like Almonty's FB page?  Liebherr is a leading manufacturer of high-quality mining equipment. Liebherr mining exavators reduce gas consumption by 20%. Is Liebherr trying to gain business from Almonty? Or is there a deal already in the works?
  3. Then there is some foreign company liking Almonty's FB page too.  Initially I thought it was the China, but though a little more digging, it appears to be a South Korean financial services company.
  4. Another section on Almonty's FB page......"Related Pages"....What is this?  One of the definitions I saw is "it is related to the pages you like, interact with and visited. Facebook analyzes your data and interactions with stuff even outside FB to show you stuff that is most relevant to you"..... Relevant to WHO? Me???? I don't have a FB account. Is FB tracking me? Or is this relevant to the 6 people who manage Almonty's FB page?  That was the question now....so to answer that question, I opened Almonty's FB page in Chrome's Incognito Browser and the same Related Pages showed up, so this is one of the 6 people managing Almonty's FB Page.
  5. Related Pages:  the same company that showed up in both browsers was Canadian Palladium. Does that mean something? Or Nothing?
  6. Now things got more interesting........ Back to the Pages Liked By This Page.....but from the Incognito Window....... the OeKB Austrian Bank is tracking Almonty's page as well as the Korean Economic Daily (a media and news company).
  7. If you keep reloading the incognito Window, you will see other companies show up in the list of companies tracking Almonty's FB page such as Mining & Earthmoving Canada, another mining equipment company.

One thing is for sure, Almonty has attracted the attention of several if not many mining and equiment services companies and they wouldn't do that if
  • Sangdong wasn't going into production (near term)
  • there wasn't potential for future expansion and growth of Almonty (long term) - this last reason might me a stretch on my part, but the near term is not.

Facebook, or as I like to call it, "Facef**k" and "Facewits" is a dangerous place to rely on for true info on mining stocks or other things of importance. I'm almost 100% sure and positive that those "likes" from other comanies are just a "lure" to get you to visit their website. Sneaky huh ? Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and the rest are not (to me) a ...more

Thanks for the feedback. I have no social media presence whatsoever and wanted to throw this out there to see if it had any merrit. As it doesn't, I am going to go back to my original ways of staying away from social media.

Am definitely not on FB for any investment news or update.. However, I do post on AII.CA on stocktwits.com when there is any news or update.. I may miss out now and again.. Mind you, there are only 47 investors who follow Almonty on stocktwits so it is what it is..  Also, keep in mind there is an Almonty thread on www.siliconinvestor.com  FWIW
