Another $50M Loan to Expedite Build

  • The battery anode manufacturing industry needs 3,000 Tonnes of WO3 which is the equivalent of 2,379 T of Tungsten.  I doubt we will be supplying most of that...unless we expand production.
  • It looks like the Korean Gov't and Big Industries are asking Almonty to speed up its timeline to go to maximum capacity, which is why the LOI and $50M potential loan is required.
  • So this is where most, if not all, of the extra (55%) output will go to.
  • I hope the government is making up the difference for the cost of the loan for the entire duration of the loan. Plus I hope it doesn't take forever to get the loan as well.

caught the details on that slide yesterday too after relistening to the presentation. was surprised to see that an additional LOI has already been signed with KfW and that there was no NR to that. anyways, as Lewis stated, we should be hearing more details to that in the upcoming weeks. but Almonty is in a really great place now. major corp and government in korea giving company a blank sheet ...more

There is a really good chance all of this will pan out. The rush to get the ball rolling on the $50M loan with KfW. This appears to be a priority issue. The K Govt has to offer us something better than the interest cost of the loan (and over and above the initial incentives), and I am sure KfW will want to see something in writing from the other Korean stakeholders in their commiment to ...more

i would just be careful in making the conclusion that the LOI was signed for the 50 mio. the LOI signing and the 50 mio loan are listed as different points and at the 50 mio there is no KfW mentioned. not saying it's wrong, i would just not make a final conclusion on that yet. the LOI could just be related to a general financing agreement related to an expansion of the production, without ...more

Totally agree on the LOI...... it just a LOI to begin business negotiations. At the 21:00 of the IIF video, LB says "KfW is a development bank (not a commercial bank) and will support Almonty in their endevours as Almonty grows". The hardest part is getting the first loan. After that it should be easier. The K Govt and Industry has to put in writing something to state they ...more

I'm sort of thinking that Plansee will sit and wait for now untill full production is a reality. The other 55% might be broken up into many other offtakers, instead of one, but it would be nice to see it all go to the South Koreans. It's far too early to speculate or predict just now on the future, but it is nice to talk about it. The Molly is on a go slow stage now. There are 10 other ...more

I think you have raised a good point Ionade......  The KfW loan probably wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Plansee and the offtake agreement.  This would possibly Plansee considerable influence over Almonty. With agreements with the K Govt and other K industries will give us more control over our independance. Talk about exciting times....... The next 8 years.. ...more
