New NASA Alloy GRX-810.

Postes April 19 2022.

Nano oxides used in this new alloy have not been disclosed by NASA, but the fact of a 3D printed part that can far outpace anything else on todays market in all aspects of desired properties, plus the ability to withstand 1,000 degres Celcius, to me that says one of the oxide nano ingrediants might be a Tungsten Nano Oxide.
Not too heavy in nano scale even though it has the similar mass of Gold. (Almost exact).

In this case I would say,"yes, it is rocket science".

Tungsten on its own has a melting point of 3,140 degrees Celsius and a boiling point of 5,660 degrees Celsius.

"The temperature of the sun varies from around 27 million degrees Fahrenheit (15 million degrees Celsius) at the core to only about 10,000 degrees F (5,500 degrees C) at the surface, according to NASA. "

A Tungsten based  alloy could withstand high temps of 1,000 degrees Celsius with ease, but, can it be made into a commercial product and will NASA share this tech. to the current World madness ? No way just yet.

So it might be fair to say there is a bit of Nano Tungsten in this new powder IMHO.
The fact that Almonty will produce this product for the battery people means Almoty can expand in other areas, like jet engines and rocket engines as a supplier to this new market..

Not all Oxide Dispersion Strengthened (ODS) alloys are made with tungsten, however you could be right 5ilver....... I found this article related to ODS, tungsten, steel, nano-particles, and their resistance to radiation.... Space Travel Anyone. Nuclear Materials and Energy

not been around for a while...i see lots of discussion :-) a side note from one of our wantobe competitors, WRES. They have been suspended from trading a few weeks ago due to massive financial and operational problems. They have stopped production...lets see if they ever start producing again. but I would predict: another one gone...Wolf, Ormonde, Wres. the list is getting longer.

In your opinion, would any of these mines be viable to tweek the interest of Almonty for a buyout ? Grades, mine life, in place process plants and such. I have never looked into these mines, as my back was already turned and to show the middle finger.....well, you know. "My favourite post of all time".

Wres...no chance. their resource is such an extreme low grade that it will always be very challenging to produce at breakeven let alone make any profit.... but some crazy offtaker could to keep it running just to ensure a steady western supply of tungsten; any profit would be then made further down the production chain. that mine has been dead for longterm shareholders since long time; was only ...more

Its going to take time to find another quality mine and yes I am really earily in making this suggestion as Almonty has a lot to focus on. But a good strategist always plans ahead and adjust those plans accordingly. And LB should know this because look how long they had their eye set on Sangdong. We should use a similar approach but hopefully one that comes with Gov't and business ...more

There is only one country in the World that I can think of that has a massive potential for Tungsten and many more untapped reserves. North Korea. China has been nibbling and supporting them for so long to try to get the honey. Of course they dont trust each other, along with China/Russia relationships.. While I was working in North Vietnam back in the late 1980's on a $13mil coal process ...more

NK and any country like that will be out of the question. Ethical source of resources will be demanded by customers and the financial community. When I was referring to another mid-size mine, doesn't mean it has to be Moly or Tungsten. It just has to be in high demand for resource, backing by the government, and business relationship with industry.

Thanks, I never really knew that so many mines were that bad off. So the middle finger is well and truly extended. lol

What is happening with all those other W mines is a bit of a double edged sword as lower supply is good for price of Tungsten but it reinforces to investors that investing iin W mines is a money loser.  I think Almonty's story is one that can break through that thinking however. . . whois

Another reason why I am saying to look for 20+ year mine life. Acquire existing if the ROI is right.
