Almonty Industries Inc > One sentence crushed it.

One sentence crushed it.

No above ground works. no earth works, no detail design drawings, no equipment assembly no nothing.
Just a stock pile of equipment at another far away holding yard.

"Almonty has already signed an LOI with KfW IPEX-Bank in January 2022 to potentially fund up to US$50 million of this downstream processing opportunity which would see Almonty participate in the full supply chain from mine to battery products. We will continue to progress this opportunity in tandem with the construction of the Sangdong Tungsten Mine which is progressing as planned. Further details will follow once engineering design work has been commenced."

Commenced ???:
Are they serious ?
This design should have been done and completed long ago.
I know Lewis is overly cautious, but this is too much.

The front end of the process plant for dump hopper, primary crushing, screening, secondary/tertiary crushing and ore storage building has nothing to do with the rest of the more complex chemical process.

Get this project started regardless of the process plant issues please.

I have worked on many projects 20 times in size than this one in the past, but this one is the first that makes me feel helpless.
Start the build NOW !

The status of the downstream processing opportunity isn't a major concern for me, I'm hopeful it will turn out, but in my modelling for Almonty's value, I have left the processing plant out entirely. I consider it a value add, potentially a significant value add, but not required for Almonty to provide as Lewis says, "truly spectacular returns".  It's the same way I ...more

i would consider that sentence is in reference to the new downstream processing facility, otherwise I also agree that it makes no sense.... if my assumption is correct, then the inital engineering work could be used to support a more detailed CAPEX / OPEX estimation; leading to a financial model. If favorable IRR / NPV's you proceed into more definit agreements. Thats probably what KfW would ...more

@ blueskies and Ionade. I'm a retired engineer that has been working in the mineral processing game since I was 18 years old. Sorry to get your hackles up but I do not follow the investor thing as you do. My goal still stands for a front end build on site, and that is my nature as a builder of these plants. I''ll leave the investor talk to others as it is of no great interest to me.

5ilverlining808, I have two questions for you if you have a couple minutes: 1. Did you read the statement "Further details will follow once engineering design work has been commenced." to be related to the Sandong tungsten mine or the downstream processing facility? My read was it is related to the processing facility but just wanted to confirm your thinking. 2. More importantly ...more

Lol, rest well. Thanks.

@blueskies At the beginning of year 1, production is 0.  At the end of year 1, production is 450t. Basically production in year 1 is (450 + 0) / 2, give or take 20%-30% on either side of the average.

@quarterdollar, I think I must be dense, I can't figure out what question you are trying to answer; sorry.
Comment by TwelveBagger on Nov 15, 2022 11:48pm
What would that figure to be in revenue at current market price - say 225 for year 1  I'm not sure I quite understand the revenue opportunity based on the numbers I view haha clearly has to be more than $350 US x 225 tons, correct? Very dumb question - don't judge me!!!
Comment by blueskies on Nov 16, 2022 10:32am
@TwelveBagger No judgement. Here is a rough estimate for you, if you are looking for something different let me know: APT Price: $345 (roughly the current price) Wo3 Price: $269 Cost per MTU: $106 Ore Tonnes: 451,000 MTUs Wo3: 180,175 Revenue = 180,175*269, so $48.4 million usd Expense = 180,175*106, so $18 million usd Net out to about $30.4 million usd, not bad for the first year of production ...more

@blueskies, On question 1 :- I initially thought the same as you. Now on reflection, I think Lewis is doing the "tripple check every thing" approach that he stands by for perfection (pedantic sprung to mind) but to be a first time KFW approved company and to win the trust he might be doing this to prove and assure to KFW that there will be no problems at all. So, in short, I now think it ...more
