Ferndale Port -- Petrogas/Altagas Facility

Vessel Cratis-LPG tanker  has  arrived into the FERNDALE port –late last night.  Petrogas/Altagas is loading.  I would  assume  about a 5 day fill period   and  a  period of 19-20 days between tankers.

Arrival  Departure           Vessel                   TYPE      GT          Barrels Propane
Jan29     Feb4                 Captain Markos     LPG        47173       599,000
Feb17                              Cratis                     LPG        48963       622,000

*Assuming 12.7 barrels / metric tonne
*600,000 barrels /20days= 30,000 barrels / day   implied throughput rate of Ferndale.

Good information but I think you have to look a Net Tonnage not GT  From what I know at RIPET you have to look at 44 000 tons/load .

Thank you. Very good information and give us the number of LPG Tankers at Fendale/year or 18 per year comparer to RIPET with 27 in 2020 .or 66%. 2021 tankers traffic at RIPET so far look already better than 2020 Total shippement for the 2 ports look to be what we have been told or 80 000 barels/day in 2021.

You are doing f@ckin good Job, it's okay you can come to Newfoundland, only for visiting , no foreign allow to stay for good.

bossu, your numbers are incorrect.  The 80,000 bbls/day was for Ripet alone, not 2 ports.  Ferndale was additional 50,000 bbls/day of C3 and C4. Have a look at page 24 of the February 2021 presentation.  CLICK HERE FOR PRESENTATION

rfguysd, I think there are two wharfs there.  One Ferndale and the other Alcoa Intalco. Vesselfinder only shows ferndale while marinetraffic shows both.

GunnerG.    With due respect… I am looking at the satellite imaginary of the wharf   that Petrogas/Intalco exports from… there is only  landing.  The BP wharf to the north has 2 landings  and Conoco  due south has one . Recall,  Intalco  is no longer using  the wharf since it has closed the smelter.  That allows Petrogas full access of ...more

Thanks for the info.  I thought Petrogas owned the wharf south of Intalco and where I got my two from.  Duh
