Town Hall

These are the things I find interesting:

100% change from the divi to the buyback mindset. He accepted, that the Roi from an asset must be close to the Roi of Aoi.

He wished he had the liquidity in 2020...yeah, that's my warchest argument all day long....you only build empires anticyclical. To have money, when everyone has money...leads to waste of money.

He still said he's valueing Venus at $3-5/bbl oil in the ground (after appraisals + economic flow rate). Imho, it should be more like $3, because of depth, technical challenge, development costs and time.

yes he mentioned the big shareholders didn't like the tax bill on dividends. Lol. So change to buybacks.

I thought the "Cayman" shareholders pay no taxes and that was the reason for their divi mindset...that tells you something about how smart these shareholders are. To be honest...if I would be a f.e. 25% shareholder, I would prefer divis too, because it's impossible to sell the shares atm without destroying the share price.

think for the tax on dividends he is talking about the swedish, they pay quite high taxes
Comment by Nopump2 on Sep 17, 2022 4:41pm
Believe it or not Swedish pay next to nothing when it comes to stock market capital gains if stock put in a ISK account so that was what he was refering about, they will prefer buybacks as down the road will make for a stronger shares / more non taxable capital gains

Right? Dual listing in different countries is where we are at. If you've ever studied tax, if your smart or rich enough avoidance vs evasion is a thing. I don't like the idea of a Swed who doesn't like taxes dictating dividend policy. Such a large shareholder would have plenty of accountants to avoid such a misguided notion.

A majority of folks in countries that support UA Nazis are sick of the waste and rather not pay more tax than needed. For captive Candaians endlessly stalked by the Nazi like govt for taxes and fees at every level there simply is no escape unless you can afford a golden visa to low tax country of have an EU passport like me enabling me to freely chose country of residence for tax purposes ...more

Same taxes as Canada only first world healthcare, education , social supports and transportation unlike Canada that looks like a third world country at every level and perspective. Would be fifth world if people.actually had to earn what they buy I steady of having 400% debt ratio in the highest debt per Capita country in the world.

My thoughts too. I wrote most of the stuff (he changed his mind about) more than a year ago at SA etc...so...better late, than never ;-). Now build a war chest and KH is my man hahaha
