For now it's a 5 % drop.. If the ''buble'' burst, which I'm expecting ,you may have it with  an extra  10 % or more discount ! Way overvalued !

Bossu.. can you explain why you think that AQN is "way overvalued"..
Comment by greenonions89 on Feb 22, 2021 9:58pm
In my opinion it is win-win.  If it corrects even more - then I get to add a bunch more at lower prices. This is a long term hold so effects of an event like this are miniscule.  Look at the 10 year chart for this stock - not many that you find will be any better than AQN for steady consistent growth.

Algonquin might be slightly overvalued, but it is not out whack for the sector by any means. In fact Algonquin and Northland Power are probably the closest you'll get to fair value in the sector. Northland might be a little closer to fair value, but I guess it depends on what metrics you use to determine the valuations. When it comes to being overvalued for the renewables sector if you said ...more

Today's dip, in my opinion, occurred because of two reasons.. first the whole of the renewable energy sector, NEE, FSLR, CSIQ, all the hydrogen energy sector stocks, the wind energy etf FAN, pulled back significantly for different reasons and AQN was caught in this pullback.. this together with the Texas situation caused the 4.6% drop in the share price..as mentioned AQN for long term holders ...more

Hey Young Interesting. I have a slightly different view of the utility/renewables space. As background, my wife and I own a full position of AQN, CPX, EMA, and FTS and a partial position of NPI. I think AQN and CPX are fairly valued but strong buys at this pointt for their future growth. I think EMA and FTS are screaming buys, especially for an income investor. I differ with you on NPI. I ...more

Hey Bosso Here's your direct quote from Sunday about the Monday open. It was indeed absurd and you were way off. bossu wrote: Might be a good opportunity to get on board... Surely a 15% drop Monday How's the tanker watching "spor"t going? You really should get a real hobby.  :-).

Too bad for you Sarge but it's hurting to see almost all the Companies you have been mentionning  are loosing steam.Good divivend ''payers ''and all of them have sustainable cash flow. All of them are a good choice but the way they have been performing was too much too fast. So the actual correction was inevitable. As far as I'm concerned I 'm invested ou was in ...more

Hey Bossu Not that it really matters but our portfolio is actually up 5.4% YTD to today's close. (see below from our Morningstar list of what we own). My wife & I are dividend income/growth retirees living off dividend income. The biggest thing to us is that we have ample didivdend income to more than cover our expenses. We actually have more than double what we need so the kids have ...more

Hey Bossu Very interesting on how aggressive you are with your investing (especially for an old guy ;;-) Congrats on your YTD returns. My wife & I are definitely conservative and are generally just buy & hold. This last year has really been an anomoly for us with a bunch of portfolio maintenance for various reasons - take-overs, over-priced pure renewables, dumping some unloved guys ...more

Near 20 % drop since February . Better to watch ''LPG tankers '' fron RIPET  and Ferndale and of course being in ALA , However I have taken a small position on share price appreciation after that big drop.
