RE:IKN comments on Aclara Resources and community relations This is LatAm, where the Latin spirit and passion makes for great copy! Only 18% of eligible voters voted, and the people who were in charge of community relations obviously didn't do a good job (aka they sucked). They were hired by BioLantanidos and it was Hochschilds responsibility once they bought out the co in 2019 - H dropped the ball by not being more proactive on the community end of it.
I suppose they could have delayed their original submission for a year to get the populace onside instead they submitted it in early 22. That would give them a year to straighten out the let's call it 'gross embellishments and non truths' spread by the NO factions. Apparently the guy in charge now has a great rep. And is experienced in community relations from his work in the area for forestry industry. Yes forestry,,, in the Penco concessions we also have an oil pipeline, a highway, a waste disposal site (garbage dump) and lots of second growth. Aclara has a full wallet to provide social benefits to Penco and environmental benefits where they will work,
The loud No faction can't provide jobs and spin-offs from the project. MOST IMPORTANTLY, from all the info provided by ARA so far, the project is safe, with no explosives, no milling, it's self enclosed, no cyanide, minimal water consumption and recycled water, no tailings and so ni leach pads. NO RADIOACTIVITY. It is also the m word, "mining".
You guys can check out the abundant communications from ARA 's Twitter feed and the website to get your own sense of it. Otto forgot to mention the CEO's purchase of 1.5 million shares, dropping a cool $491,000 to buy shares in Dec. This speaks loudly as well.
