Another New Project

This might explain the recent share price raise. Could it be those in the know knew what was coming?

If one wants to build a nuclear plant, AECON is the only qualified constructor. And with the ongoing energy shortage, AECON's nuclear business will just become more valuable going forward.

As a LONG term ( investor ) shareholder .here..... we can only hope this is cost plus contact with long term over run clauses as Time goes by    & NOT a fixed pricing situation which may get them in a tight position...  Regards  to  ALL other Investors OLD & NEW, TimeBuilder

Snc and stn along with are all use to issue fixed contracts, it was industry standard. Not any more. All 3 companies have losses that are unresolved and all 3 are working through the courts to try to get contracts increased. None of those companies will ever sign fixed contracts again. Industry standards have changed.

If a contractor signs a fixed contract I would like to believe they have an idea of what cost over-runs would be. For example if they anticipate 20%, add 30-35% to the bid estimate. Quotations do not have to be razor thin. Once again, Covid has absolutely blindsided contractors with increased cost to complete contracts. They never could have anticipated things would get this bad. Nobody has a ...more
