Hello Gabriel  Interesting new release re SNC/ Aecon Candu . How would you deep dive into this lovydovey relationship ?  Between the lines, I think it's a prelude for something big to follow. Your and others thoughts please.

Sorry it was not news release, just an article

Ian Edwards - CEO AtkinsR said this morning during the conference call that the business of Candu is basically that of refurbishment of existing facilities. There are 30 Candu reactors in 7 countries around the world: Canada, Argentina, China, India, Korea, Pakistan, and Romania. 5.5% of global nuclear output is sourced from Candu reactors. 56% of Ontario's electricity is sourced from Candu ...more

I read the entire transcript,  they demonstrate tons of optimism in the Nuclear sector. Aecon will benefit greatly in this sector in the near term. Aecon continues  to be the hidden treasure, but not for much longer as any smart investor can still pick up shares for dirt cheap not having to chase it!  Very soon it will move up in leaps and bounds and many will say, I could have, I ...more

AtkinsRalis welcomes AECON as new Canadians for CANDU ambassador sounds more like a marketing campaign to me.  You could substitute a halfadozen other names for Aecon in that slot. Confusing the message is the awkward syntax.  It has little to do with "new Canadians".

Aecon is in a consolidation phase before the next leg up. I am not following Bird but it is under pressure today because it climbed 10% yesterday morning. It is stil' up over 5% in the last 5 days.

If I was advising CGL, I would surely advise them to negotiate a settlement before arbitration, even if the CEO of Aecon said he is not interested. Contractors prefer to go through the process when they have a strong case. I know I have a similar case working for the contractor. Federal agencies acting as the owner (like CGL is the owner here albeit private) represented by Justice Canada however ...more

It sounds logical, and never know if quiet negotiation may be in play behind the scenes. Gabriel, it this possible?

Honore de Balzac wrote about 200 years ago: "A bad settlement is better than a good trial". Un mauvais reglement est mieux qu'un bon proces. So yes, it is very possible as our Chaiman of the Board, our CEO and our CFO all know it. I am sure they all studied Balzac, they are all perfectly fluent in French.
