MVC’s main source of water is the water contained in the fresh tailings they receive from El Teniente. They also have water rights and they store surplus water from rainfall in a water dam in Colihues which helps them during periods of drought. Finally, MVC has 3 water thickeners that allow it to reutilize water in their processes, and will be completing improvements in these thickeners this year ...more

sometimes ARG comments on water supplies - was it discussed on the CC?? also, somebody in the past had a pretty good weather link to current/outlook forprecipitation in Chile..please post?? PS. i'd also like  ARG to get going at ANOTHER location - Cu is nicely profitable and i'm sure there;s competition out there..keep hearing great relations with the govt etc , so now is the time ...more

Part of Auroras comments in the call Here is an update on our water situation. The 2021 rainfall season in Chile is now over and marked a return to drought conditions. Although not as dire as in 2019, which was the worst drought in Chilean history. Notwithstanding MVC has been able to maintain healthy level of water reserves in U.S., which are currently 7.3 million cubic meters. This is down from ...more

  I had an earlier post with respect to water usage. They don't require as much as you might think.
