Buy Gran Colombia or Aris Gold for Long Term Value

Hello,

I will apologize upfront if this has already been addressed in another post. I'm relatively new to Stockhouse and after searching a bit, I did not see any posts that address what I'm trying to decide.

I am trying to decide whether to buy GCM or Aris Gold stock with the intent of the purchase being a long-term part of my portfolio (i.e. holding 10+ years). Knowing that GCM now owns ~43% of Aris Gold (down from 53% per the latest GCM Investor presentation) and has an actively producing operation in Segovia and monthly dividend, GCM seems to be the better buy vs Aris Gold which has longer to go and inherent risks with getting to the target 200,000 oz/yr in Marmato and whatever the development plan is for the Juby project in Canada.

Are there any factors that make Aris Gold a better purchase compared to GCM other than greater exposure Aris' stock will have to the projected production increase (i.e. getting 8x exposure via Aris from 25,000 to 200,00 oz over next several years vs 3.5x through GCM's 43% ownership of Aris)?

Are there any concerns for GCM on exploration at Segovia to extend mine life?

Thanks for any insights anyone can share on Pros and Cons of owning GCM vs Aris Gold!

With ARIS you should have a better operating team trying to maximize the value of their stock (while this is secondary to GCM's mgmt). Bottom line, you're probably best with GCM (as ...more

My pick is gcm. Full disclosure, my biggest position in my acct is gcm warrants and my 5th biggest position is the common stock. Thanks to the MANY opportunities gcm has given me to buy cheap I have built up quite the position. However, they are making money hand over fist, buying back stock, will have debt paid off by late spring and pay a dividend monthly. I challenge anyone to show me a stock ...more

As someone looking at getting into specific gold mining companies (my current gold position is in Wheaton, Sandstorm and physical), I've been trying to understand GCM's significant undervaluation compared to ARIS and also taking into account GLDX as Lumpy13 pointed out and other gold miners in general. I've watched several interviews with Serafino, and I cannot pinpoint the drag on ...more
