but look like only gcm and gold x are in this move

What is known, according to Valora sources , is that the operation would be between the two mining companies Gran Colombia Gold and Gold X, a Canadian company. It is worth mentioning that the fixed details of this new operation would be known through a press release, which would be published in the next few hours or even until Monday, March 15.

Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Mar 12, 2021 10:08pm
So, the peanut gallery believes that we are looking at a GCM acquisition of GLDX?  OK, I am curious what the acquistion ratio would be.  The lowball offer last time which fell through was 1/2 a share of GCM per share of GLDX if I remember correctly.  As a GLDX shareholder, I would want at least 0.75 share of GCM per share of GLDX in order to vote yes on a pending deal. Remember ...more

they could look at it as a merger rather than an acquisition. goldx needs the cash and gcm management team to build the mine. without gcm, goldx would still be diluted from acquiring cash funding but still need to find a management team with experience in that location. with gcm continual cash generation goldx can avoid that funding dilution and gain all the assets of gcm. they make a good match.  ...more

you are right - GCM goes from undervalued optionality to more undervalued complexity?
Comment by prem124 on Mar 13, 2021 7:20am
I think merger is likely or acquisition by another. I hold shares in both and would vote against acquisition of gldx at a premium.
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Mar 13, 2021 10:48am
Well, go ahead and run the numbers.  GCM's and Aris's M&I resources pale in comparison to GLDX's elephant-sized resource.  You think an elephant is going to come cheap?! We know the 0.5 share offer was too low.  Personally, I would love to get 1:1, but I know that isn't going to happen.  So, I'm comfortable with splitting the difference at 0.75 ...more

ha! what are you smoking? this all appears to be little more than a financing deal of some sort to me.  GCM has cash.  GLDX needs it to build road.  The man with the cash always has the upper hand, so expect GCM to end up with more shares (and warrants) of GLDX on its balance sheet (at a reasonable discount to current market price) in exchange for some of GCM's cash.  Good ...more

I can see more pain in your future Menosomething. This is all guessing and do think they will come up with something more than just the road and perhaps something far reaching as actually getting some shovels in the ground as well. You remain just talking peanuts when this elephant has been snoozing for too long. The likes of Friedland and Matysiuk do no show up just to build a road. IKE

you two are both on the knuckleheads, dreaming of some astronomcial take out or "merger" with this El Dorado style cash cow called GCM.  Guyana Gold (and Sheridan) talked for years about how big the "size" of the gold in the ground there was, yet when it got around to being dug out of the ground it was no where even close to what their projections were. Hi Ike, I've always felt that GCM would be the ultimate suitor for GLDX.  I gladly voted a few years ago to make GCM a control person of the company.  I say let the Chinese be the foil that protects us from being acquired on the cheap by GCM.  I don't want a quick buck via a cash offer from the Chinese.  I have been in GLDX for about 6 years and am here for the long ...more

I will also vote no. In my view GCM is more undervalued. This is not value adding to GCM. Terrbile deal. Much better way of increasing production would have been to increase production out of Segovia,

I'm thinking I will too. If for no other reason than to send a message that these deals are good for someone, but never me and the long term sufferers. Go ahead and vote no then, I have voted on on a fair share of merger proposals I've felt haven't benefited me. Remember though, it is a matter of perspective.  Although I think the offer is a bit light as I would've preferred 0.75, the .7 shares is close enough to acceptable where I will likely vote my shares yes as it does represent at least a legitimate offer from GCM. the market values aris/caldas at $325 mil, twice the market cap of goldx at $155 mil. aris has a well known proven mine building team, goldx does not. aris is fully funded, goldx is not. only when goldx is diluted until fully funded would goldx be worth as much as aris to be comparable. aris will soon be making money producing at 50k oz/yr then almost 200k oz/yr, goldx is not producing yet ...more
