Toroparu

I would like to know what the plans are for this enormous gold deposit. There aren"t many deposits of this size anywhere in the world and they are still drilling to add more. If you believe that gold is going much higher, than this valuable asset won't have any trouble becoming a mine. I can't believe that GCM would make this deal just to sit on it. The market doesn't like this deal right now but there must be more going on that hasn't shaken out yet.

Agree here (as someone who believes golds going to rise). I mean the market really hates it (we're down 10%?), but it's a good deposit.

If we could manage to go down another 20 percent then GLDX holders will hopefully vote it down as their 0.7 GCM shares will not me worth much.
Comment by Perseus on Mar 15, 2021 12:05pm
Why would it go down another 20%? We bought a deposit with over 7M in measurable ounces, with another 3M in inferred ounces, with the ability to find more. Why because it's not currently in production? Is that the only reason?
Comment by prem124 on Mar 15, 2021 12:15pm
No because there is a change in approach of mangement. We were being told of dividends, share buybacks and waiting for share price to improve. Growth was going to come internally at very little cost from Segovia. Now they will have plenty of shareholders wishing to move on and buyback will not make dent on this. GCM is more undervalued than GLDX in my opinion. It is a subjective opinion but this ...more

You are going from a known value with present gold prices to an unknown value with regards to future gold prices.    So GCM is betting that gold prices will be much higher than they are now... That is a Gamble and they paid a very high premium for that gamble.

I thought the name of the game was to make money. Whether it be poker or not.  GCM has been sitting on 20% of GLDX share for how long now. Your illustrious high commander sits on its board. None of you guys ...more

People on this sub say that the "market is always right" when they point to the share price today, but will call the market delusional for GCM's share price being so low normally. These both can't be true.

agree 100%. Same people must also think that the DOW Jones and Nasdaq are also fairly valued. The efficient market hypothesis is garbage and has been for a long long time. What I don't understand is the incessant whining about this deal....that deposit is a freaking monster and we're paying peanuts for it wtf.

Great post Eap5522.....that deposit is a freakin monster.........MW

Serafino is the master .  Simple as that .  Most people here have no idea what`s in the works . You think he is here to lose his own money . If you are not happy use your final option . The best thing I see is no Sprott involved . If you stick around long enough you will see Serafino take on the big boys  .

None of us suggests that he is here to loose his money. What people are saying that this is a big strategy change form value play to speculative acquisition. What was the point of spinning off more advanced asset like Marmato and now buying Toroparu? I just don't see how it is value accretive from point of view of GCM shareholder unless Toroparu is vastly superior.
Comment by kkkrrr on Mar 15, 2021 5:12pm
look at GCM History a few years back.. GCM Wanted a open-pit Operation with marmato..because zur illegal miners this goal never came to fruition..they discovered marmato- undergound but it seems they never really wanted be an operator of an big underground mine.. so they Sold oh partially ..now with Toroparu they have the big underground-project again... i love the deal!

I think Serafino is the master, at making Serafino money.   I've never seen a CEO spin more plates to accomplish less for shareholders.   I notice there is always a cut of every deal for him, which is why serious investors like Sprott left, and this trades at the valuation it does. After the takeover he'll spin out 28% of it into a combined stream of gold payable ...more

LOL, true. If there was any belief among investors that the goals of the management are aligned with the goals of (other) shareholders, GCM would most probably be trading at multiples of where it is today. Such a shame. Nevertheless, it is sooo, sooo hard to exit with valuation being so low. Regards, Luka
